Exploring the Wonders of Science at 

Irushadhiyya School

On the vibrant afternoon of January 20, 2024, Irushadhiyya School opened its doors to a spectacular Science Fair, welcoming students from Grade 1 to Grade 10, as well as eager members of the public.

The science fair buzzed with excitement as judges, comprising teachers from other schools, diligently began evaluating the diverse range of projects at 2:00 p.m., concluding their assessments by 3:00 p.m. Students, brimming with enthusiasm, presented their projects, fielding questions that showcased their in-depth understanding of their scientific endeavors.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the evening unfolded with an enchanting inauguration ceremony. Aishath Lucy Binthi Thalib, a seventh-grader, set a serene tone with a soulful Quranic recitation. Following this, Mariyam Eshal Siraaj, the president of our Science Club, delivered an inspiring speech, urging all students to embrace curiosity about the world around us. The culmination of the ceremony saw our esteemed principal, Mohamed Nasir, captivating the audience with a mesmerizing experiment, officially inaugurating the science fair.

Post-inauguration, visitors were treated to a visual feast of ingenious experiments, models, demonstrations, and groundbreaking research by our budding scientists. It became evident that Irushadhiyya School is nurturing a generation of curious minds and aspiring scientists.

As the clock struck 6:00 p.m., the science fair gracefully came to an end. Visitors departed with newfound knowledge, and we, the students, undoubtedly gained invaluable insights. This immersive experience has undoubtedly broadened our horizons, and we anticipate that the knowledge acquired will continue to guide us in our academic journeys.

In retrospect, the Irushadhiyya Science Fair was more than just an event; it was a celebration of curiosity, discovery, and the relentless pursuit of knowledge. Here's to a future filled with more scientific exploration and learning at Irushadhiyya School!  

Aishath Aseel Hussein Abdul Samad, 10B

On 30th August 2022, an event regarding the inauguration of netball took place. This was aimed for all girls in the school. All teachers, both female and male participated in this event. This event took place from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.

Firstly, there was a small Zumba session taken by a few girls from grade 9. Everyone took part in it and it definitely rushed up our adrenaline although some students were a bit shy to take part. After the session, the event was introduced by leading teacher Hawwa miss. She talked to us about the slogan chosen for the event along with how important working as a team is in the sport of netball. The activities which were planned to take place were also mentioned by her. Lastly, The netball was handed to us by our principal Mohamed Nasir sir.

As we were all warmed up, next up was a relay with various hurdles and challenges we had to overcome to get to the finish line. All the students were very enthusiastically taking part which was a definite win. After all the students had finished the relay it was finally the highlight moment of the event. What the whole event was based on, was finally here. But before that, we had a quick break to hydrate ourselves. We had a glass of delicious orange juice and biscuits along with it. We were later on divided into groups in order to play netball. 

The first four matches were students vs students. It was very fulfilling to see how students were genuinely playing which was one of the biggest aims of this event. The highlight was for sure the very last match which was among the female teachers. It was definitely interesting to see how they interpret the sport and enjoy doing something different for a change. 

As time was up, we all said our goodbyes and headed home with a full heart of happiness and enjoyment.
